This post is a follow-up to the pull-up journey I did last year. The theme, as always, is how you get there.
This is the original video that demonstrates how to do a pull-up like a badass ninja wannabe and not like an actual badass ninja. Read original post here.
The following video demonstrates a more sensible approach to building upper body strength.
Update 02/14/14 A little help from my uterus.
Wondering what a latissimus dorsi is? Let me Google that for you, Click here and sit back, I’ve already done the work for you. 🙂 Now I’m just a smart ass ninja.
Update: I’ve been schooled by a Navy Seal that what I’m actually doing in the video is a chin up, not a pull-up. I guess I should have googled it first. 🙂
Here is the pull-up assistant thingy I have. It came with a DVD, but I haven’t gotten to all the ways it can be used. Lifeline USA Pullup Revolution Plus

Nicely done and beautifully demonstrated. I can’t wait for the follow up!
Thanks so much for showing us your pull-up journey, Barbara! I just ordered my Lifeline pull-up support thingy via your link because I want to be a pull-up ninja like you! 🙂
Awesome! Thank you. Keep me posted on how it goes.
Thank you Tim. Hopefully the follow up won’t be a whole year from now. I’m feeling stronger everyday.
Hi Barbara, I was cracking up when i saw you get your Bruce Lee game on in the first video! 🙂 That reminds me I need to try and do some pullups I’ve not done them in years.
You are my hero :o)
Good job, but that’s not a pull up, that’s a chin up.
Yes, I’ve since figured that out. 🙂 Thank you. I’m working on my pull-ups.
